Why an Evening Routine for Moms Matters

Creating a consistent evening routine can support our body’s natural rhythms, aid recovery, and improve our sleep quality – all critical for managing the physical and emotional demands of motherhood. Whether we’re healing from birth or simply trying to balance family life, these moments of self-care can make a big difference.
My Evening Routine for Moms Essentials
1. Kiwifruit Drink for Better Sleep and Digestion

I like to start my wind-down time with a nutrient-rich drink that supports my digestion, immunity, and hormone health. My go-to is a green kiwifruit drink that I prep with homemade kiwifruit ice cubes. This drink is not only refreshing but also packed with vitamin C, zinc, and fiber to keep my gut happy and support my body’s natural rhythms.

I like to start my wind-down time with a nutrient-rich drink that supports my digestion, immunity, and hormone health. My go-to is a green kiwifruit drink that I prep with homemade kiwifruit ice cubes. Ingredients
- 6 green kiwifruit (peeled)
- 12 tsp Greens and Reds powder
- 12 tsp vitamin C powder (mine includes zinc and vitamin D)
- 12 tsp psyllium husk
- Water, to blend
Instructions
- Peel and blend the green kiwifruit with a splash of water and all other ingredients until smooth.
- Pour the puree into a large ice cube tray or silicon muffin tin with 12 spaces and freeze.
- When ready to serve, add 1 kiwifruit ice cubes to a glass.
- Top up with cold water, stir well, and enjoy!
Notes
Why This Drink is a Game-Changer:
- High in Vitamin C – Supports immune health and skin repair.
- Rich in Fiber – Helps keep digestion regular, which is key for hormone balance.
- Contains Tryptophan – Kiwifruit is a natural source of tryptophan, an amino acid that can boost serotonin production, supporting better sleep.
2. Foot Soak for Simple Self-Care

When I don’t have the energy for a full bath, a foot soak is my go-to. It’s an easy way to unwind while I’m relaxing on the couch, and it makes me feel like I’ve taken a little extra time for myself without a huge effort.
DIY Foot Soak Recipe:
- 1 cup Epsom salts
- A few drops of your favorite essential oil (I love lavender or peppermint)
- 1-2 pumps of gentle body wash for a soothing scent
- Warm water
- Pumice stone (optional)
Simply soak your feet for 15-20 minutes, then use the pumice to gently exfoliate and stimulate circulation. Not only does this help soften your feet, but it also encourages better blood flow, which can be grounding and relaxing after a long day.
3. Evening Supplements for Rest and Recovery
Alongside my kiwifruit drink, I take a few key supplements to support my recovery and overall wellness:
- Magnesium – For muscle relaxation and deeper sleep.
- Primal kiwi Freeze-Dried Multi Beef Organs – For nutrient density and overall energy, click here for this product.
- Primal kiwi Krill Oil – For omega-3 fatty acids, click here for this product.
- Rosita Cod Liver Oil – For Vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins, which are great for brain and hormone health, click here for this product.
These supplements help replenish nutrients, support hormonal balance, and aid muscle recovery, which is especially helpful if you’ve been active during the day or are recovering from childbirth.
4. Simple Skincare for a Calming Routine

I like to take a few minutes to gently wash my face with a nourishing facial oil (I use this one, get 15% off with this link), followed by a rich facial balm (I use this one) to lock in moisture. This small ritual feels luxurious, even on the busiest days, and helps me wind down for the night.
To finish, I rub a bit of magnesium balm (I use this one) onto my feet to support muscle relaxation and deeper sleep. It’s a simple but grounding way to prepare my body for rest. Plus, the calming scent of the magnesium balm adds an extra layer of relaxation, making it a perfect part of my bedtime routine.
5. Creating a Calming Atmosphere
I also like to keep the lights dim, use red light bulbs where possible, diffuse some calming essential oils, and play soft background music as I wrap up my evening. These small touches really help set the mood for better sleep. These small touches really help set the mood for better sleep.
